Getting Started with My Checkbook for iPhone
Our initial version of My Checkbook for iPhone is focused on simplicity. We'll add more features over time, and as we get feedback about what customers want to do.
Simple User InterfaceAs you can see, the user interface is very simple. We're showing a list of accounts, their balance, and options to add a deposit and add a withdrawal. Entering deposits and withdrawals will automatically update the balance.
Provide Feedback or View the NewsThe bottom toolbar on the Accounts screen allows you quick access to let us know what you do and don't like about the app. You can also let us know what additional tools would help you to better manage your money.
As we have news announcements, you'll receive them right in the app. We'll let you know of what's coming and some helpful tips from time to time. |
Start with Your Latest Bank Statement
We recommend you grab your latest bank statement, and enter the Ending Balance from the statement as your initial balance for the account. You can setup the initial balance for the account by tapping on the account name. This will take you to a screen where you can change the name of the account, or set the initial balance on the account.
Next, you'll need to enter any recent transactions you have done since the Ending Date of your latest bank statement. Once you have done this, your balance should equal the amount currently in your account. If it doesn't there may be some transactions you missed, so check carefully.
Once your balance matches, and you've entered all the necessary transactions since your last bank statement, you're ready to use the program on a daily basis. As you spend money, or receive money, you'll track each transaction. Your balance will be updated immediately so you can understand how much money you have. Of course, you must enter all the transactions you make, otherwise your balance will get out-of-sync with your bank statements. We recommend that you use each bank statement as a checkpoint to make sure you're on track.
